Frost Fair 2019 Santas Grotto
Frost Fair 2019 Santas Grotto

We will have a special guest during the Frost Fair again this year - Father Christmas! He will be in his magical pop-up Grotto in the Larch Centre, hoping to meet lots of children between 1pm to 4pm.

The lucky Children will gather (along with parents / carers) at the magical Grotto entrance, to be greeted by Santa’s helpers and then taken in small groups see Santa in the magnificence of his Grotto.  Once seated the children will be able to ask Santa questions about his job, his reindeers and even what he likes to have for tea, before receiving a super gift from the sack.

Unfortunately, Santa is only able to spend a few hours with us as he has important business to attend to at the North Pole and, although this year we are able to squeeze more children in to see him, there still won’t be time for everyone to visit who may want to.    With this in mind, Santa has asked to meet some of the younger children at the Fair – particularly those in Reception and Yr1, so if parents of older children could wait before booking just for a short while – you’d make FC very happy!  Thank you.

Booking on this  website will open on Thursday 28th November and if you would like to book a slot please visit the PSA website to register and pay for tickets -

PSA website http://www.simonballepsa.org.uk/.  Tickets are priced at £4 per child.

If you have any issues booking tickets please contact psa@simonballepsa.org.uk

Festive (Head) Accessory Day Tuesday 26th November

Each year, some amazing hampers are produced from items donated by Larch families.  These hampers are then raffled during our fairs.

On Tuesday 26th November, the children are invited to come to school, in full uniform, but wearing a festive hat or head accessory in exchange for a donation we can use to fill the hampers.  This could be anything from a pack of festive biscuits, a pair of gloves, a bottle of something, books, toiletries, small gifts anything you would be happy to win yourself!

Please avoid donating any nutty items.

Well done to everyone involved in making these wonderful events happen and the investment back into our school.

What an amazing and incredible year the PSA has had. Your Committee members have enabled many wonderful events /projects to take place to help fundraise for your children, build the all through school community, have fun and make friends.

With your help, we have ran more events, raised more money and given more money than last year to the School.

Here’s just some of the things we have done:

  • Helped fund the swimming pool refurbishment
  • Held a Summer and a Christmas fete
  • A Quiz Night
  • Secondary Recycled Uniform sales
  • A Primary Disco
  • A Primary Film Night
  • Secondary Parent Evening raffles
  • Primary Friday Ice Cream Sales
  • Given ‘forever memories’ to Year 11 Leavers at their Awards party
  • Provided personally designed Christmas cards, tote bags, tea towels and pottery items
  • Planted and pruned with the Primary Green Fingers garden group
  • Provided drinks and refreshments at nine bar events and coffee mornings
  • Contributed to the lease of two minibuses
  • Launched the PSA as a ‘good community cause’ with East Herts Council Lottery game
  • Set up a Just Giving page
  • Added us a benefactor to MyNametags
  • Continued as a benefactor from Give as you Live on line shopping page
  • Started a long term fundraising project of a new School / community building – a Hall for All

From these events we raised a profit in 2018-19 of nearly £16,000
