FOBG Committee Meeting - Tuesday, 13 September @ 8pm

 13/09/2022 (Tue)  20:00 - 21:30
Further Information

The meeting will be held the school staff room, and is open to all parents/carers and staff.

If possible please let Lisa (FOBG Secretary) know in advance that you plan to join the meeting so she can confirm access arrangements to you.  She is contactable at fobg.l.whyte@bishopgilpin.org.

All parents and carers of children at Bishop Gilpin are automatically members of the FOBG.  The FOBG committee is the team elected to manage the FOBG on behalf of the members. The committee, along with a teacher representative and school governor, meet twice a term to discuss planned events, future fund raising and how funds are to be spent.

The meetings are informal and friendly, and we would encourage any parents/carers who are interested in what the FOBG are doing, or who wish to become more actively involved, to join the meeting.  All input and ideas are very welcome.

Fundraising

Every year, we aim to raise upwards of £30k, which goes towards providing facilities and equipment to advance the education of all children at the school. How this is spent each year will vary, however typically the FOBG will allocate circa £12k to the library; plus £2k to support workshops for the children and a further £2,500 for art resources.

Other funding will vary. The school will put forward funding requests, which are voted on by the committee. In the past funding has been allocated to items such as the music pod, front of school redesign, playground refurbishments and equipment.

Want to know more? Have some fundraising ideas? Come and join us at our next committee meeting!

Can you help?
