When we bought our house 11 years ago the garden was very over grown. The idea we had was to terrace the bank, we decided what we were going to do to the garden before we moved in, but we needed to do lots to the house first.
To begin with we terraced the back garden, a job that turned into something bigger and more complicated than we initially thought.
I just plant things I like, the idea was plant plants for the four seasons and I would not need to walk along the terraces very often, but that has not worked out. Gardening the terraces takes a lot of concentration to not put a foot in the wrong place.
At the top of the garden we levelled it, and had a summer house built. We added the upper terrace a few years later with a rose bed. The arch and arbour have been added more recently.
We would love people to come and visit our garden, but climb the steps at your own risk.
Please note: This garden is on two levels with steep steps so please be aware of this before booking.
