You don’t need any training for most of our events!

It’s useful to have some volunteers with Oakwood approved DBS for cinema and disco nights to cover toilet trips, but most volunteers are never left alone with a child/ren so that check is not compulsory for other helpers. 
Most of our events with children are also family events so the children’s guardians will be present and responsible for their own children. 

The only exception to this is Gardening that we run within school time. For this you need to have attended the schools safeguarding briefing. Email the school admin office to ask when the next date is for this meeting, held by Mrs Thompson.

All our PTA event volunteering roles are advertised here when they are available, otherwise to get involved with the PTA more broadly, get in touch to be added to our 'PTA matters' email list.

The school have requested that the PTA take into consideration their policy on alcohol at school.

To support and increase participation of protected groups in school activities (including PTA events) we are choosing to advertise most of our family events as alcohol free to encourage those who may otherwise be discouraged from attending.

Our adult events are unaffected by the school policy as no children are present, however we will still advertise alcohol free events when they occur in the same way, to encourage participation by those who are or feel excluded from events that serve alcohol.

There could be many reasons why you didnt receive an order confirmation email from us.

Firstly, please first check your spam or junk mail folder to check it hasnt been filtered in there.

Secondly, please ensure you add to your contact list or safe sender / white list.

Finally, if you are using an email service provider such as Hotmail or AOL please be advised that they restrict the volume of messages that can be received from a sender and therefore you should download your tickets from "My Account" section of the Oakwood Primary School PTA website.

Not usually. We tend to have a checklist on entry for events that need it.

If this changes we will say so on the ticket receipt, and you should follow procedures below.

For events that need a printed ticket: Please ensure you print your tickets so they can be scanned on entry to the event. Each ticket has a unique QR code on it which identifies you. We use sophisticated scanning technology which seamlessly synchronises scanned tickets to a central database. This way we can ensure that tickets are not fraudulently used multiple times and therefore we can keep your ticket price down.

If you purchased products that showed a QR Code you should have received an order confirmation email from Oakwood Primary School PTA

If there was no QR code then your name may be taken to be ticked off our list at entry point.

In the email is a PDF attachment containing all your tickets. Unfortunately, the IOS mail app has issues rendering PDFs so although you can see an attachment icon you can't actually see the PDF. You can download a copy of your tickets from the "My Account" section of the website or alternatively, download the email to another device as you'll need to print them off to be scanned on entry.
