COLOUR RUN 2024

Further Information

COLOUR OBSTACLE RUN Sponsored by Jackson Bailey
The colour obstacle run last year was so successful and so many children and adults enjoyed it so we have decided to do another one. We cannot wait to host this event again! The event is kindly sponsored by Jackson Bailey our local estate agent in Botley Mills. https://www.facebook.com/jacksonbaileyuk

COLOUR RUN AND OBSTACLE COURSE: On Saturday 8th June. £5 per person. The course planned will use the field and the playground and include obstacles such as tyres, scramble nets and horizontal ladders with several colour powder stations at which volunteers will throw the specially sourced colour powder onto participants. There will be an option to complete 1 or 2 laps of the course to be decided by the entrant.

*It is extremely important that no other powders sourced by individuals are brought and used on the day*

BOOKING FEE: There is a booking fee of £5 per person and we will be asking entrants to book a time slot to attend to ensure a steady flow of runners for safety and to maximise the fun. The run is open to both adults and children just book for your total number of participants. We would ask that children under 6 years of age taking part and running on the course are supervised by an adult around the course but any children attending must have an adult present on site but age 6 and over the adult doesn’t have to run the course if they don’t want too.

WAIVERS:

-Waivers for every person attending need to be filled including adults.

Please download at this link:  Here

If you can print this in advance and fill it in and these can be posted in the red FOBS post box INSIDE the school reception. (But if not please make sure you bring to the gate when you sign in, this will all save us time on the day).

SPONSORSHIP: In addition we have a Go Fund Me Page if children and any participants want to approach family and friends to sponsor them. Donations via this will be really appreciated but are not compulsory to take part. https://gofund.me/8267b087

FUNDRAISING: FOBS are currently fundraising towards upgrading the small kitchen area at the back of the school hall to improve cooking lessons at school and allow a larger number of children to cook at the same time. This kitchen area is also used for school events, breakfast after school club and even FOBS events in the school hall.

CLOTHING: Please note that any clothing you wear may become stained. White or a plain pale colour clothing may be more effective with the colour powder. Volunteers will be throwing the colour powder from the neck down and whilst it is recommended that you wear eye protection such as goggles or glasses this is at your discretion. We recommend that if you have a respiratory, skin or medical condition that you seek advice from your GP as to whether to participate.

SLOT TIMES: 1pm 1.20pm, 1.40pm 2pm, 2.20pm 2.40pm and 3pm although we would ask you to arrive 15 minutes early to check in and participate in an optional fun warm up. (We may add extra slots if these sell out).

WARM UPS BY JAMZ DANCE: We have Jamie from JAMZ dance school hosting our warm up areas this year (https://bookwhen.com/jamzdance & https://www.facebook.com/people/JAMZdance/100086443879893/)

SPECTATORS & REFRESHMENTS: Spectators can watch for free and we will have refreshments for sale. Thank you for supporting this event and we hope it will be a really enjoyable experience for the children and their families and friends.
