Thanks to those who saved those all important crisp packets last year and sent them into school.  We have today received a payout of £12.78 from Terracycle in partnership with Walkers. 

Crisp packets cannot currently be brought into school but if you are happy to save them at home we can send them off at a later date.

Most crisp packets (and the outer packaging for a multipack bag) can now be accepted including lentil based crisps, vegetable based crisps but please note the following cannot be accepted on our scheme:

A year of fundraising through the Coop Community Fund and our outdoor musical insruments are finally here.  Two have been installed in the year R playground and 3 in the main playground.

These instruments were specifically chosen for their inclusive play qualities, enabling children of all all abilities to play alongside each other.

Thanks for supporting us in a win win situation, we save 10kg of crisp packets going to landfill whilst raising a bit of money for the school.

Mrs Taylor undertook a review of the year R garden in July 2020 and identified the need for storage solutions that would enable a more streamlined and effective way of storing equipment in the year R garden.  Her proposed solutions were beneficial in that they would prevent both existing and new equipment from becoming damaged, as well as allowing easy access to the children to create a more enabling environment.  In addition to this she created a wish list of new resources that would develop children’s play and learning outdoors as well as encourage purposeful and meaningful activities that will facilitate learning.  The items identified would assist with maths, literacy, and the development of gross motor skills.   

Last year Hawley Almshouses kindly gave us a donation of £300, which enabled us to prove we had raised the £9,000 needed to secure the additional £3,000 grant from Morrisons so that we could complete the all-weather canopy project after a couple of years of fundraising.  The PTA committee figured we had nothing to lose by approaching them again to see if they felt able to make a donation towards the wish list and were absolutely staggered when they came back within a couple of days to say they would pay for the entire £900 wish list!
