Santa is coming to Wanstead!

When he heard it was going to be difficult for the children to visit him this year, Santa Claus thought to himself, "I'll visit them instead!".

On the evening of Wednesday 16th December, Santa Claus is going to be driven around the streets of Wanstead and is going to try and wave at as many children as he possibly can, with the help of his very own elves. Please do spread the word, stand outside your house and give Santa a warm welcome! His elves will be collecting change in buckets (from a distance), and your children are welcome to throw some change in!

COVID-19: During the event, please remember to keep a 2m social distance and wear a mask!

Fundraising

This time of year, Parent and Teacher Associations (PTA) at schools are usually organising Christmas Bazaar's, silent auctions, raffles and lots more! The money raised is spent on projects that have a direct impact on the children's learning environment. For example, this year both Wanstead Church School and Our Lady of Lourdes PTA's are raising funds to support the upgrade of their school's computer equipment. The Oakdale School's are fundraising for their push towards reading, including replacing old books with new, gaining annual subscription for age-appropriate magazines/newspapers and more playground wall signs to extend pupil's reading. Nightingale Primary School are also fundraising for a brand new set of books for the reading area in every classroom. Snaresbrook Primary School raising money towards a bike track to promote road and cycle safety at the school. These projects are instrumental to the children's education, and the way in which our teachers are able to teach.

This year, with COVID-19 making our usual fundraising activities impossible, Wanstead's local schools have come together as a community to ensure the children still enjoy the magic of Christmas. They will also be splitting any funds raised equally between the schools.

We would be so grateful for your donations and support!

Participating Schools: Wanstead Church School, Our Lady of Lourdes School, Nightingale Primary School, The Oakdale Schools and Snaresbrook Primary School

HUGE thank you to Parker Dairies, North London Loft Rooms and Terry Tew Sound & Light for supporting this event!
