Bid on this amazing auction donated by local pilot Caroline Ainhow. A unique and totally private balloon flight for 2 people across the Kent countryside.

We would like to offer for auction a once in a lifetime chance for 2 people to experience a bespoke private balloon flight.

Based in Horsmonden your pilot Caroline Aindow will arrange a preferred time/date and location for your flight.  For a morning flight this would be just before sunrise and for an evening flight about 2 hrs before sunset. You will soar above the stunning Kentish landscape, a wonderful, magical treat for you both to share, and a great way to mark any special occasion. There will be photo opportunities before during and after the flight and the experience will be completely tailored to suit you. After the flight the crew will then drive you all back to your original meeting point. This is a very rare opportunity, 'dream come true' moment and would make a spectacular gift.

INCLUDES:

  • A 3-4 hour private hot air ballooning experience between mid April and mid October.
  • Greeting & passenger registration.
  • Full pilot safety briefing, learn how the balloon works and watch the inflation.
  • A 1 hour unforgettable VIP flight with beautiful views across the Kent countryside.
  • The opportunity to join in the fun packing the balloon away.
  • Bottle of champagne

The auction will close on 9th December and we hope to raise as much money as possible for the TGS PTA.  You cannot put a price on this type of experience. Bid generously, this will be a popular, unique event.

Match Funding
Match Funding
Lynn Gadsby
Article published by:

Many companies in the UK offer employees the chance to boost their fundraising by 'matching' the money they raise. It really is money for nothing, and TGS PTA could double the amount it raises with very little effort. Want to know how? Read on...

What is match funding?

Match giving or match funding is a simple way of maximising the fundraising efforts of your individual PTA volunteers. It is an informal albeit corporate arrangement between a company and their employee. Not all companies offer matched funding but those that do will pledge a sum of money relating to the amount their employee has raised for or donated to the charity of their choice. Some organisations will match fund on a £ for £ basis, others will stipulate what they are prepared to give. It is likely that an upper limit will be applied along with certain criteria such as the recipient organisation being a registered charity. Some companies will also pledge time and resources instead of money, so enabling their employees to support a cause during their working week, or offering a tangible service such as the opportunity to print posters, programmes, newsletters and so on.

Which organisations will support our PTA?

Unfortunately, while we'd love to be able to provide a comprehensive list of companies offering match funding, it is fraught with too many issues - some companies have certain criteria in their small print (i.e. where it's only offered to full-time staff after two years service), or the schemes change too often for us to be able to keep any such list up to date. Generally speaking, banks and building societies, insurance companies, supermarkets, utilities providers, phone companies and car manufacturers are known historically to offer match funding schemes.

Here are just some companies that we know who operate match-funding schemes:

Aviva, Bank of America, Barclays Bank, Benfield Group, BP, British Telecom, British Gas, Camelot, Costcutte, Co-op, Daryl Industries, Deloitte, Diageo, Ernst and Young, Experian, HSBC, Ipsos, Mori, JP Morgan, Chase, Kingfisher PLC, Legal and General, Lloyds TSB / HBOS, Microsoft, Northern Rock, 02, PwC, RBS Group, Royal Dutch, Shell, RW,E nPower, Santander, Schroders, Sky, Tarmac, Tesco, Texaco, UBS, Unilever, Yorkshire Bank & Whitbread

If you are currently employed by one of these organsisations or another company that is not listed we would like to hear from you:

pta@tgs.kent.sch.uk

Every single penny we raise is used to fund projects for the school that benefit your children.

Thank you

TGS PTA

The hampers have been brimming with fabulous gifts making the Hamper Raffle one of the highlights of the Christmas Term.

Last year the raffle raised over £2,700 for the school and we are hoping to beat that figure this year.

Inkeeping with the Wizarding theme the 7 hampers will each be named after a Harry Potter book:

  2. The Chamber of Secrets
  3. The Prisoner of Azkaban
  4. The Goblet of Fire
  5. The Order of the Phoenix
  6. The Half-Blood Prince
  7. The Deathly Hallows

All pupils will receive a booklet of 5 raffle tickets to purchase. Each ticket is £2. If you would like to purchase some tickets, please:

  • Mark your name and address and your childs Learning Community on the stub
  • Enclose cash or a cheque made payable to Tonbridge Grammar School PTA for the correct amount
  • Keep the other half of the ticket for your records
  • Hand the completed raffle tickets and payment in at reception.

There will be a prize for the Learning Community that sells the most tickets. Extra tickets can be obtained from the school reception, so please sell to family, friends & colleagues and dont forget 100% of the funds raised benefit the school.

The draw will take place at 3pm on the 9th December at The Wizarding Winter Fair. Winners not present will be notified via phone.
