In November 2019, Ethan Hargreaves sadly died leaving our whole school community shocked and saddened. Ethan was a delightful boy who was filled with kindness. He will always be remembered for his huge smile and happy nature. In school, we talk about him often and his classmates enjoy retelling stories of their adventures together. In Ethan’s memory, we are going to create 2 special areas in school. A play area on the key stage 1 playground and a memorial garden on the key stage 2 playground. To begin making the memorial garden, we are launching the sponsored 100 Challenge.

Your challenge is to complete 100 of ‘something’ within one week starting on the 8th February 2021. You might decide to learn something new and challenge yourself to complete 100 of them or you could master a skill you already have. Suggestions so far have been 100 kick-ups, 100 laps around the garden, singing 100 songs, 100 catches of a ball, baking 100 cookies and 100 minutes dancing. Some children are making the challenge even harder and completing 100 tasks a day! I can’t wait to see what the adults in school challenge themselves to do.

Attached to this Event is a sponsor form. Every penny you raise will be put towards developing our memorial garden. Please collect your money as soon as possible after the event. If any of your sponsors are eligible to claim Gift Aid, we need your sponsor form returning to school. This can be dropped off at the office or take a photo and email back to mackiehillpta@hotmail.com.

Sponsor money can be taken to the school office or paid electronically to the PTA on www.pta-events.co.uk/mackiehillpta before Friday 5th March.
