Phase 1 of Playground Improvements Now Fully Funded

Thanks to a grant of £3,750 from Gatwick Airport Community Trust, we are delighted to announce that phase 1 of the playground improvement project is now fully funded!

Work has already commenced on clearing trees and shrubs around the area due to be improved, and low hanging branches of the oak tree have been removed. The installation of weatherproof surfacing, benches and play equipment will take place in November.

A HUGE boost to our playground fundraising!

The PTA are delighted to announce that Southover Manor Trust have awarded us a grant of £14,800 towards our playground improvement project!

This grant will go a long way to help us realise our plans for phase 1 of the project, to improve the 'mud patch' opposite the Elemental Arena with a weatherproof surface and seating.

If you go down in the woods today...

We always strive to keep the outdoor learning areas stocked with engaging equipment for the children to use during their sessions outside the classroom.

Over recent months, we have added toadstool tables and stools (upcycled from cable reels), water walls and scales, and a set of mud kitchens.

Thanks to the Smith and Courtney families for their dedication and ingenuity, all the volunteers who have helped out with making and installing, to Jewson for the donation of materials for the kitchens, and the monetary donation from The Star, Lingfield, that made it all possible.

Help raise funds for the PTA when you shop at Co-op

We're very excited that The Friends of Halsford Park have been chosen to be one of the Co-op's Local Community Fund charities, and we're looking forward to working closely with them over the next year.  We're raising money to hopefully provide some amazing playground refurbishments at school and we're lucky enough to be a part of this scheme until October 2021. We are linked to their Crawley Down store so if you're a customer there you'll hopefully get to see our posters up in store soon!

If you're not already a Co-op member please consider joining as every time you spend money in a Co-op store we get a percentage of your spend towards our charity, and joining only costs £1!  Becoming a member not only helps us but it helps you too as you get lots of membership rewards.

If you're already a member, you can select us using this link to our cause profile page https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/45993. Members from across the UK can nominate us as their charity of choice too using this link or by calling Co-op customer services who will happily update this for you.

The more people we can get to nominate us, the more money the school can receive so please spread the word (and the link above!) and we'll keep you updated with how the fundraising is going!
