Who’s running this event?
Our fireworks night is run by the Friends of Harwood Hill (the school’s pta and a registered charity). Other than the professional firers, the event is run entirely by volunteers, mainly parents and teachers. Every year it raises much-needed funds for the school.
If you have any questions for the Friends of Harwood Hill, would like to sponsor the event, or run a food or indoor stall, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
How will I get my tickets?
You’ll need to buy your fireworks tickets from our website. harwoodhillevents.co.uk will redirect you to our pta-events site where you’ll need to register before you buy. You’ll be sent an email with your tickets attached. Please print the attachment and bring it with you on the night, as we will scan your ticket on entry. We can also scan the attachment on your mobile phone.
Can I buy tickets on the gate?
We sold out in 2015 & 2016, and sadly had to turn many people away. Which is why we’re selling tickets in advance, online this year. We recommend you buy your tickets now to avoid disappointment. In the event that we do have any tickets left on the night, we may decide to sell them on the gate. Please check back here or on Facebook for updates.
Will I be able to park?
Parking is extremely restricted in and around Harwood Close even on normal days. Because of the large numbers expected on the night, the streets surrounding the school will be even busier. For safety, vehicle access will be restricted for non-residents. Please walk or use public transport if at all possible. If you do choose to drive, please park considerately. Please do not park on grass verges or blocking any driveways.
How can I get to Harwood Hill School by public transport?
By Train: the school is about 20 minutes walk from both Welwyn Garden City and Welwyn North stations. There’s a taxi rank at both stations. By bus: 403, 300 and 301 all stop nearby at the Knightsfield roundabout.
Can I bring my own food or alcohol?
No food or alcohol will be allowed in through the gate. We’ll have a licensed bar and lots of food choices available onsite.
Can I bring sparklers?
No fireworks of any kind will be allowed onsite, including sparklers.
If I can’t make it, can I get a refund?
Refunds will only be offered if we cancel the event.
We're raising money to purchase some new laptops which are desperately required by the school for pupils ICT education and for the compulsory multiplication table test which come into effect in 2020. Please support us so we can provide better equipment to support the children's learning!
There are currently no tasks to volunteer for
Friends of Harwood Hill exists to bring us all together as a community and raise vital funds for the school. We organise fun events for children and parents, and work with the Head and teaching staff to decide where the money raised will be best spent. Our objective is to give all our children a richer experience during their time at Harwood Hill, as well as leaving a legacy for those who will follow.
E-Tickets will be dispatched to the email address you registered with along with your order confirmation. Please ensure you have the facility to print off your tickets or have them accessible on a mobile device so they can be scanned on entry to the event.
