FAQs

Who’s running this event?

Our fireworks night is run by the Friends of Harwood Hill (the school’s pta and a registered charity). Other than the professional firers, the event is run entirely by volunteers, mainly parents and teachers. Every year it raises much-needed funds for the school.

If you have any questions for the Friends of Harwood Hill, would like to sponsor the event, or run a food or indoor stall, please email us at hhsa@harwood.herts.sch.uk

How will I get my tickets?

You’ll need to buy your fireworks tickets from our website. harwoodhillevents.co.uk will redirect you to our pta-events site where you’ll need to register before you buy. You’ll be sent an email with your tickets attached. Please print the attachment and bring it with you on the night, as we will scan your ticket on entry. We can also scan the attachment on your mobile phone.

Can I buy tickets on the gate?

We have sold out every year so far, so we recommend you buy your tickets online now to avoid disappointment. In the event that we do have any tickets left on the night, we may decide to sell them on the gate. Please check back here or on Facebook for updates.

Will I be able to park?

***UPDATE**** Limited parking will now be available at Homerswood School for the evening of the event (5 minutes walk from Harwood Hill). £2 per car.

THERE WILL BE NO PARKING AT HARWOOD HILL.

Parking is extremely restricted in and around Harwood Close even on normal days. Because of the large numbers expected on the night, the streets surrounding the school will be even busier. For safety, Harwood Close will be closed to all vehicles from 4.30pm (except residents' cars). Please walk or use public transport if at all possible. If you do choose to drive, please park considerately. Please do not park on grass verges or blocking any driveways.

How can I get to Harwood Hill School by public transport?

By Train: the school is about 20 minutes walk from both Welwyn Garden City and Welwyn North stations. There’s a taxi rank at both stations. By bus: 403, 300 and 301 all stop nearby at the Knightsfield roundabout.

Can I bring my own food or alcohol?

No food or alcohol will be allowed in through the gate. We’ll have a licensed bar and lots of food choices available onsite.

Can I bring sparklers?

No fireworks of any kind will be allowed onsite, including sparklers.

If I can’t make it, can I get a refund?

Refunds will only be offered if we cancel the event.
