Year 6's learn vital first response skills.
The PA in - partnership with Emergency First Aid Limited - provided emergency first response training to our 2017/18 year 6's prior to the summer holiday break.
The training was extremely well received by the children who learnt key skills in CPR and 1st response.
Danny Hyde from Emergency First Aid was extremely impressed by the children's enthusiasm and engagement throughout the 2 hour long course.
The purpose of the course was to transfer the skills and knowledge required to act effectively and with confidence in an emergency situation. PA committee member and organiser of the event, Shelley Wiliamson, said " the result of providing this course is that we have 60 trained first responders available within our school and community armed with the confidence and ability to make a difference in an emergency."
Danny Hyde from Emergency First Aid had this to say - " Having knowledge and confidence to know what to do it in an emergency situation will undoubtedly save lives, the skills the children have learnt today will stay with them as they move onto secondary school and beyond."
Due to the success of the workshop, a course is now being arranged for our new year 6's with all costs covered by the PA.
The PA would like to thank both Danny and Shelley for making this event such a resounding success.
