Year 6's learn vital first response skills.
The PA in - partnership with Emergency First Aid Limited - provided emergency first response training to our 2017/18 year 6's prior to the summer holiday break.
The training was extremely well received by the children who learnt key skills in CPR and 1st response.
Danny Hyde from Emergency First Aid was extremely impressed by the children's enthusiasm and engagement throughout the 2 hour long course.
The purpose of the course was to transfer the skills and knowledge required to act effectively and with confidence in an emergency situation. PA committee member and organiser of the event, Shelley Wiliamson, said " the result of providing this course is that we have 60 trained first responders available within our school and community armed with the confidence and ability to make a difference in an emergency."
Danny Hyde from Emergency First Aid had this to say - " Having knowledge and confidence to know what to do it in an emergency situation will undoubtedly save lives, the skills the children have learnt today will stay with them as they move onto secondary school and beyond."
Due to the success of the workshop, a course is now being arranged for our new year 6's with all costs covered by the PA.
The PA would like to thank both Danny and Shelley for making this event such a resounding success.

The Great British Summer Fair's Sausage Sizzle was held at Bunnings Walthamstow on Saturday April 21st, which was extremely well supported by the customers and staff of Bunnings.
The Great British Summer Fair's Sausage Sizzle was held at Bunnings Walthamstow on Saturday April 21st. It was a fantastic day with the customers and staff of Bunnings making every effort in supporting our fundraising aim to purchase and install desperately needed air-conditioning at the Junior site. With such a sunny day it would be fair to say the Sizzle was never short of customers - many compelled to buy some traditional Aussie style tukka by the smell of sausages and fried onions heavily scenting the air.
A huge thank you to the dedicated and determined team of volunteers and supporters. Without you taking time out of your day to help, the sausage sizzle would not have been such a rousing success. Through all your hard work and effort we raised a total of £432.95.
We would like recognise the follwing supporters for their contribution to the Sausage Sizzle:
Sainsbury's Loughton : £30 voucher towards purchase of sausages
Vauxhall Chingford : Sponsors of the £500 cash prize ( Raffle )
Bunnings Walthamstow : Hosting and guiding us with the Sizzle.
Also a huge round of applause to our volunteers :
Sally Hobley, Shelley Williamson, Garry Sampey, Kelly Piper, Steve Piper, Oscar, Helen , Jenny Spearman, Malin Myrstad, Liz, Eugene Brazelle, Paul Menzies, Kye, Taya and Marc Flecther.
