Come and join in! Our Colour Run is a family-friendly event with an emphasis on fun. We’d love you to be there.

What is a colour run?

Colour runs are famous for their vibrant, fun-loving, party atmospheres. Throw yourself into a technicolour festival mood!

As you run/jog/walk around the course, you will go through four different colour stations which will shower you in safe, eco-friendly, plant-based coloured powder. Your free t-shirt will become your own unique multi-coloured canvas as a memory of your day.

The course – 5km and 2km options

The course is off-road, and is approximately 5km (with four colour stations), with a shorter loop option of approximately 2km (with three colour stations). The course takes you through the picturesque woods and fields around Babraham.

You will finish at Babraham Primary School where you can continue to enjoy the Colour Festival, including BBQ, bar, Tea room, games, face-painting, a raffle, stalls, music and more. There will be even more colour with events (such as our annual tug-of-war competitions) having the twist of colour throws!

Happiness, fun and family time

The event is all about enjoyment, as well as raising funds for the school. It doesn’t matter if you have never run a 5k before - you can enjoy walking the route, and there’s the 2k option available too.

It is not a race. There is no chip timing, and it is not a measured route. It doesn’t matter how fast or slowly you go around the course, as long as you bring your sense of humour with you!

Important information:

  • The coloured powder is safe, eco-friendly and plant-based. However, it is advisable to wear sunglasses to avoid any powder going in your eyes.
  • Please wear old clothes and shoes. You will receive a t-shirt with your entry fee if you enter the race before the deadline.
  • Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children aged 8 and over remain the responsibility of their parent/guardian. The route is marshalled but we have a limited number of volunteers and cannot be responsible for children on the route.
  • The route includes a stretch beside a stream, and there may be other natural obstacles such as tree routes. It also includes gates. Please exercise caution.
  • The route uses public footpaths and tracks, which remain open to members of the public. Please remain respectful of other users and allow right of way.
  • This event is not suitable for dogs or other animals due to the coloured powder. If you do bring your dog, please keep the dog on a lead at all times and ensure you do not take dogs or any other animals through the colour stations.
  • Please respect and adhere to the marshals’ instructions.
  • Please do not leave any litter on the route.
  • We have 400 spaces for entrants. Entry will close if we reach that number.
  • If we have spaces still available, we may allow entries on the day. This will be indicated on the website. If you enter the event on the day, or after the online deadline, we cannot guarantee availability of t-shirts.
  • The organisers do not accept responsibility for personal possessions on the school site or route.
  • You enter this event at your own risk.
